Staging

I am sure you have heard about staging and you may think it is about making a home look pretty for a buyer. But it is much much more than that!

Real estate is a visual business in which we need to appeal to a buyer’s heart and their head. We appeal to their heart by allowing them to imagine their life in the space (with neutral and space-appropriate furniture and décor) and we appeal to their head by clearly indicating the functionality of the space (office space, bedroom, kitchen, etc).

Between HGTV and the quality of listings in our area, buyers have come to expect a well-polished and organized home. But if that is not enough, here are some additional compelling reasons to stage:

49% of buyers’ agents indicated staging had an effect on buyer’s perception of the home 77% of buyers’ agents indicated staging a home made it easier for a buyer to visualize the property as a potential home One-third of buyers’ agents indicated that staging a home increased the dollar value offered between 1-5% compared to other not-staged comparable properties.
29% of sellers’ agents indicated an increase of 1-5% of the dollar value offered by buyers in comparison to similar homes. 21% 39% of sellers’ agents indicated that staging a home greatly decreases market time

According to the 2017 National Association of REALTORS Profile of Home Staging

I am an Accredited Staging Professional – one of only 27 in Seattle and one of the first! That coupled with my corporate marketing background makes me very well-equipped to work with the items you have to create pizzazz and curb appeal or bring in additional items to supplement. Staging obviously contributes to your bottom line as a seller. Don’t compromise when it comes to having your home shine!
